10 Ways to stop overeating

If you are an overeater and a fan of left overs and seconds, there is hope. You can break the overeating cycle and lose weight. All you have to do is follow a few simple ways and you will be one step closer to being free from overeating. And as overeating most definitely wreak havoc with your figure, your waistline will thank you for making these changes. Let’s see what they are:

1. Weigh your food

Weighing your food will help you to make sure that you are getting in the right portion sizes and that you don’t overeat.

2. Memorize portion sizes

To avoid weighting the same food over and over again. Try to remember the portion sizes or try to make a comparison between the food and a household item like a box of matches or a deck of cards.

3. Invest in smaller plates and bowls

Smaller plates and bowls will ensure that you eat less than before.

4. Have soup or salad before meal

Soup and salads consumed before a meal will be a great way to fill you up and to see that you are eating less and staying full for longer.

5. Brush teeth right after dinner

If you brush your teeth right after dinner, you won’t be as tempted to snack lat at night.

6. Have a big breakfast

A big healthy breakfast will ensure that you stay fuller for longer and thus making you less likely to overeat the rest of the day.

7. Exercise

Exercise increases appetite control and it also ensure that you are less hungry. Make sure that you exercise at least 3 times a week.

8. Have 6 small meals

Eating small meals more often will see that you are not hungry between meals because you will be eating so regularly. Just make sure that your meals are small and healthy.

9. Don’t go back for seconds

Resist going back for seconds. Rather have a glass of water or herbal tea to finish the meal off.

10. Snack smart

Keep some smart snacks at hand that you can chew on – those would be fruit, vegetables, fat free yogurt and a handful of nuts

If you follow these ways of not overeating you will be able to control your overeating and you will be less hungry and you may even end up losing a few pounds. And the next time that you do want to overeat, just choose one (or more) of these ways and you will be the boss of your overeating.
