I spent a fortune on my window coverings when I moved in to my new home. You know what it’s like with a brand new house, you want nothing but the best to match with the freshness of your décor and give you that special feeling of comfort. For me, it was wooden blinds. I’ve always loved the romanticism that wood brings to a a home, and I was desperate to produce that same feeling for myself. Unfortunately, I didn’t do my research and soon found out that wood is a lot of work. Not only do you have to keep them lacquered regularly to keep them looking good, but you have to be extra careful when cleaning them as well.
After a couple of months of this hard work, I gave up and had them replaced with some cheap vinyl mini blinds. They don’t look quite as good as wood, but there is literally zero work involved in their upkeep, and for a busy girl like me, that’s a big plus.
