Bare walls can give a kind of barren look to the home. Therefore, people generally decorate their walls with something or the other to give the house a more lively and pleasant feel. Some of the options available to instill life into a dead wall are decorative paints, portraits and paintings, a wall display cabinet, etc. But most of these options require a big investment and are not meant for those with humble budgets.
If you are looking for something to decorate your walls but do not want to go for these conventional options, either because of your taste or your budget, then you must consider the option of wood wall shelves. Wood wall shelves do not only act as decorative installment in a room, they can also be used to store and place useful things like books, speakers, trophies, candles, etc.
Now, one might ask wall display cabinets can also be used to store and display items. So, why should one go for wall shelves? Well firstly, with shelves, one has complete freedom in terms of placement and size. Multiple shelves can be fixed on the wall in innovative sequences to give a unique and distinct look. This option is not available with wall cabinets. Also, wall cabinets do not display decorative items as completely as shelves do. Wood wall shelves are also comparatively cheaper and easier to install than cabinets. But cabinets have one definite advantage above wall shelves they offer more protection to the display than shelves. Since wood is sturdy enough, one can place even heavy items on wooden shelves. But, one must take care to keep the heavier objects on the lowest shelves so that there is least chance of a bad mishap. If possible, one should get shelves with a raised boundary so that things dont slip off the shelves each time there are strong vibrations or accidental shoves. Boundaries are especially necessary if you are planning to keep speakers on the shelves, as speakers tend to vibrate, move and slip off when loud music is played on them for a long time.
