Protein Shake

Protein shakes are everywhere these days.  But are they necessary?  Are they good for you?  Do you need to drink a protein shake after a workout?  The facts are that almost everyone gets the levels of  protein that is required by the body simply from maintaining a healthy and varied diet of  food and drinks. The recommended daily allowance of protein for a healthy adult is 0.75 grams of protein for every kilogram of body weight. This calculates to somewhere between 45 grams and 56 grams of protein each day. But protein shakes are a quick and easy way to get an extra boost of protein if you are concerned that you are not getting enough from your diet or if you are exercising more than average.  They can help your muscles recover after a workout also.
