Selecting The Right Wedding Music

Every bride and groom want their guests to enjoy their big day with them. The music you select can either help or hurt your wedding reception.

If you are a more traditional couple, with a traditional type of wedding theme, traditional wedding music is right up your alley. Bach, Mozart, and Handel are wonderful decisions for any part of your wedding.

If you are leaning more towards a spiritual ceremony and reception, add some contemporary sacred music to your wedding play list. Sacred music is a vast genre including many different types of spiritual tunes, from hymnals to folk music. Do not limit yourself to pieces that only sing about wedding bliss. Include songs that talk about thanksgiving, peace, and starting a new life together.

To liven things up a bit, include well-known show tunes or soundtracks. Allow your personality to show through the music you select. If you have a younger crowd, include new pop or dance tracks. If you have head bangers on the guest list, play some fun wedding songs that will get them involved and on the dance floor.

The idea is for everyone to come together, rejoice, and celebrate the union of you and your new spouse.
