I have always gotten a real kick out of checking out some of the oddball things that get bought and sold on eBay. Of course we have all seen the silly auctions where people offer up things like advertising space on their vehicles or their actual bodies, and there are certainly many things that can make you want to shake your head.

Recently though, there were some very interesting “accessories” up for sale on eBay. These were not just your typical run of the mill collectibles. What I came across was information about a listing with an opening bid of over eight million bucks. A private owner (a museum, I believe) put up the ancient amulet and necklace of a king. He was the king of the Sarmatians around the time of the Roman Empire. This Sarmatian King’s gold was part of a large archeological discovery that could provide mountains of new information about a civilization we know very little about.
