Cleaning a memory foam pillow is appropriate in order to keep its composition. With just a few tools it is easy to do but if done incorrectly it can cause unrepairable damage.
Here is a list of the materials required for cleansing:
Vacuum which has a nozzle included
A cleanser for fabrics
A bottle with the spray feature
Towels that are soft and clean
A hair dryer
The procedure is as follows:
Any dirt that you can see should be cleaned out using the vacuum. Using the attachment be sure to vacuum out the entire pillow. Before wetting the pillow be sure that the entire thing is clean.
Take the cleanser and add in water. Before it has been mixed well. Next, spray it onto the pillow directly allowing it to sit for a about 30 minutes or longer.
Take the towel and use it to softly dry the pillow removing some of the excess liquid. Do this by dabbing the pillow.
Once you are done patting it, use some clean water to then spray the surface. The water should come from another bottle other than the one that included the cleanser.
Then wrinkle the pillow which will help to remove the water. Squeeze out as much as possible then use the hairdryer to dry it the rest of the way.
Helpful suggestions
Ask somebody to help you while squeezing out the water from the pillow. It will help to get rid of more water.
While using the hairdryer be sure it is on a low setting to prevent damage.
Be sure to have many clean and soft towels available. Using the same one more than once will be placing dirt back in the pillow.
What not to do
Be sure not to use a cleaner and that a strong because it can cause damage to the foam.
Do not place the foam in the warmth of the sun in order to dry it. This will also cause damage. Although the hairdryer may take some time it is better for the pillow.
Once the pillow has been cleaned keep it maintained which will not be difficult the second time around.
