One Two Three TKO with Wii Boxing Games

The Wii boxing genre of games provide an innovative and fun experience that the whole family can enjoy.  So, what games does it offer, how much are they, and what do they include?

Punch – Out!!! for Wii is a great game that scored 8.5 on a gamespot scale of 1-10. Your character is a 5ft 7 scrawny 17- yr old named Little Mac. He weighs a measly 107 pounds and will have you doubting his right to even be in a ring.  The opponents are humungous monsters who pound you with mean punches.  Most of the 13 boxers have been taken from the NES original version of the Punch – Out game. Long time Nintendo fans will no doubt enjoy this touch of nostalgia.

Be sure to duck when Bald Bull’s performs his silent attack on you.  Aran Ryan a crazy Irishman uses his famous head butt attack, and Bear Hugger a huge Canadian has a sweet tooth for maple syrup. Although there are indeed quite a few accessory gloves available for any of the Wii boxing games, the standard Wii remote by itself works great for this game. In fact, some of the boxing glove accessories tend to block the signal some and make the punching movement mushier, so if you do decide to try some out, make sure you can take them back if you don’t like how they feel or function.

The Wii Sports games that comes with every new Wii console includes a complete package of boxing, bowling, baseball, tennis and golf. The boxing part is extremely fun as it allows you to use the Nunchuck attachment.  It is also easy to play for any age gamer. You block by holding the nunchuk directly in front of you, and can dodge by swaying side to side, back, or forward. Boxing is probably the most physical game because you need to be on guard while your opponent is fiercely swinging back at you. This game is great for parties as it allows you to beat up your buddies without giving anyone a real black eye.

Ready 2 Ruble is another great boxing game but did not get as good of reviews as the Wii Sports boxing game. These games can be purchased online or at your local game store or even Wal-Mart. Why not rent one or two instead of purchasing them though? This gives you the opportunity to try them out to see if you like them. Whatever you decide, the Nintendo Wii along with the Wii accessories are sure to bring hours of endless interaction and fun for you and whole family.
