The power of your mind and weight loss

It is easy to lose weight but difficult to keep it that way. The temporal lobe of the brain has memory and body image projection. This is where the visual, auditory, tactile centers are located that ensure the perception of oneself. This memory has a latency period of three months.

The advantage is the possibility to vary from the ideal shape without repercussions there. This happens because after we satisfied our desires the body regulates the metabolism so that the adoption of a regular diet will lead to weight loss. This is true in reverse: If you lose weight because of stress, our body knows how to get back to the initial weight.

The downside comes when we want to change the weight we had for a long time and that our brain perceives as a reference. So we need three months of constant maintenance so that it prints into our head as a new reference image. Any extra pounds should be removed before the new body image is integrated.

Sport helps you lose weight when it is done without effort. Exercise is the only way to prevent metabolic decline that is inevitable in any diet. The secret lies in us not beginning sports at the same time as your diet because your appetite will be more difficult to control, and muscle mass will weigh more. Sport is essential for the maintenance phase after a diet for a gradual transition from a hypocaloric diet to a normal caloric intake because it is desirable to remove the “extra calories” by physical movement.

Physical activity teaches your body to burn the calories it gets from food faster. In addition, exercise can help reduce this memory from three to two months, sports help in restoring the image of our bodies in the brain.

This is not what many of us call fast weight loss but it is definitely the best way to lose weight.
