Trying to Shop in the Languedoc
I did come here to France to get away from all the commercialism in the UK. I wanted a slower pace of life and to concentrate on what is important in life. Well I don’t want to now be a hypocrite but would it be too much to ask to be able to do a little shopping without losing my mind? I live in a rural part of the Languedoc and choice is not a word that comes to mind when I thing about buying things, whether it be food or electrical goods. The French websites are still rubbish and what’s so shocking is how many things are actually more expensive here than they are in the UK. I thought it was going to be the other way around. The quality of the food is excellent but the choice of products is not. Oh well, c’est la vie.
